Birth Certificates are available for events that occurred within the State of California from July 1, 1905 to current year. Birth Certificates are not available until 60 days after the event.
Death
An authorized, certified copy of a death record that can typically be used to obtain death benefits, claim insurance proceeds, notify social security and other legal purposes. Death Certificates are available for events that occurred within the State of California from July 1, 1905 to current year. Death Certificates are unavailable until 150 days after the event.
