MARIN COUNTY VITAL RECORDS
The Marin County Recorder issues Authorized and Informational copies of Marin County vital records including Marin County birth certificates, Marin County death certificates and certified Marin County marriage records (for marriage licenses that were issued in Marin County).

Marin County Recorder issues Authorized and Informational copies of Marin County birth certificates, authorized copies are typically acceptable for passport, social security, employment and personal identification purposes.

Who Can Order?
To order copies of Marin County birth certificates online, you must have a valid Mastercard, Visa, American Express or Discover Card.

You may also order Marin County birth certificates through VitalChek's fax service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Your fax must contain the following information: a valid Visa, Mastercard, American Express or Discover card number and expiration date; the full name on the birth certificate; the date of birth; the city where the birth occurred; father's full name; mother's full maiden name; your relationship to the person named on the certificate; a daytime telephone number; whether you desire delivery by regular mail or express carrier; the street address to which the certificate should be sent; and the sworn statement. If requesting an Authorized copy you must also complete the Certificate of Acknowledgment. Please note that express carriers will not deliver to a PO box. You may inquire as to the shipping and handling fees for regular, international, or Saturday deliveries by calling VitalChek.

You may order copies of Marin County birth certificates by mail or in person at the Marin County Recorder. If you apply by mail, your request must include: the full name on the birth certificate; the date of birth; the city where the birth occurred; father's full name; mother's full maiden name; your relationship to the person named on the certificate; a daytime telephone number; and the address where the record should be sent; and the sworn statement.
