MERCED COUNTY VITAL RECORDS
The Merced County Recorder issues Authorized and Informational copies of Merced County vital records including Merced County birth certificates, Merced County death certificates, and Certified Merced County marriage records (for marriage licenses that were issued in Merced County).

You may inquire as to the shipping and handling fees for regular, international, or Saturday deliveries by calling VitalChek.

You may order copies of Merced County death certificates by mail or in person at the Merced County Recorder. If you apply by mail, your request must include: the full name of the decedent; the date of death; the place where the death occurred; your relationship to the decedent; a daytime telephone number; and the address where the record should be sent; and the sworn statement. If you are not eligible to receive an authorized copy of the death record, you will receive a certified informational copy with the words 'INFORMATIONAL, NOT A VALID DOCUMENT TO ESTABLISH IDENTITY' imprinted across the face of the copy. This document is primarily used for genealogy and cannot be used for legal purposes.
