RIDGEWOOD DEATH CERTIFICATES
Ridgewood Vital Records issues certified copies of Ridgewood death certificates, which can typically be used to obtain death benefits, to claim insurance proceeds and for other legal purposes. Ridgewood death certificates are available for events that occurred within the City of Ridgewood from 1950 to present.
Prior to 1950, death certificates may be obtained from the State Registrar.
Who Can Order?
Ridgewood death certificates will only be issued to persons who establish themselves as the decedent's spouse, parent, adult child, adult grandchild, adult sibling, legal guardian or legal representative. Children, siblings or parents that have assumed a surname due to marriage/civil union must provide a copy of their marriage/civil union certificate to link the name on their current ID. Children must provide a certified copy of their birth certificate listing both parent's names. Also required is a valid State issued PHOTO ID, with current address is required. If the address is not current, supply a copy of a current utility bill, bank statement, automobile registration or insurance card with your name and current address.
