Obtaining an Apostille or Notarial Certificate is a two-step process that involves two separate agencies:
  • Step 1 - The Florida Bureau of Vital Statistics in Jacksonville issues the vital record certificate for the Florida vital event.
  • Step 2 - The Florida Department of State, Division of Corporations, in Tallahassee issues the Apostille/Notarial Certificate.
Ordering through this website will include both steps. Your Florida vital record certificate will be shipped UPS to the Florida Department of State. Once the Florida Department of State, Division of Corporations, completes the apostille certificate, both the vital record certificate and the apostille certificate will be shipped UPS to you.
