The Nevada Division of Vital Records (Nevada Vital Records) issues certified copies of Nevada birth certificates and Nevada death certificates, for events which occurred within the State of Nevada. County Recorders only may issue copies of Nevada marriage records. County Clerks only may issue copies of Nevada divorce records. Birth
A certified birth certificate that can typically be used for travel, passport, proof of citizenship, social security, driver's license, school registration, personal identification and other legal purposes. Birth Certificates are available for events that occurred within the State of Nevada from 1911 to present. Death
A certified copy of a death record that can typically be used to obtain death benefits, claim insurance proceeds, notify social security and other legal purposes. Death Certificates are available for events that occurred within the State of Nevada from 1911 to present.

Important Note - A $1.00 agency fee will be added for Mineral, Clark, and Washoe County death requests.
