Birth Certificates are available for events that occurred within the State of Ohio from December 20, 1908 to October 31, 2008.

A certified copy of a death record that can typically be used to obtain death benefits, claim insurance proceeds, notify social security and other legal purposes. Death Certificates are available for events that occurred within the State of Ohio from January 1, 1954 to October 31, 2008.
Note - Death Certificates from 1908 through 1944 are located at Ohio Historical Society, 1982 Velma Avenue, Columbus, Ohio, 43211.
