The Merced County Recorder issues Authorized and Informational copies of Merced County vital records including Merced County birth certificates, Merced County death certificates, and Certified Merced County marriage records (for marriage licenses that were issued in Merced County).

Merced County Recorder issues certified copies of Merced County marriage records of individuals who were issued a marriage license within Merced County. If you were married with a confidential marriage license please contact the recorder's office for instructions on ordering.
Who Can Order?
To order copies of Merced County marriage records online, you must have a valid Mastercard, Visa, American Express or Discover Card.
You may order Merced County marriage records through VitalChek's fax service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Your fax must contain the following information: a valid Visa, Mastercard, American Express or Discover card number and expiration date; the name of the groom; the name of the bride; the date of marriage; the place where the marriage took place; a daytime telephone number; whether you desire delivery by regular mail or express carrier; and the street address to which the certificate should be sent. Please note that express carriers will not deliver to a PO box. You may inquire as to the shipping and handling fees for regular, international, or Saturday deliveries by calling VitalChek
You may order copies of Merced County marriage records by mail or in person at the Merced County Recorder. If you apply by mail, your request must include: the name of the groom; the name of the bride; the date of marriage; the place where the marriage took place; a daytime telephone number; and the address where the record should be sent.
