Available California (CA) Vital Record Types
Confidential Marriage Authorized Copy
Copies of confidential marriage records may ONLY be obtained by a party of the marriage, OR by order of the superior court. If you are not a party of the marriage or do not have a court order, you may only receive a written acknowledgement that a marriage took place. All applicants must submit a Sworn Statement and notarized Certificate of Acknowledgment before the order will be processed. Forms and instructions will be provided upon completion of your online order.
Public Marriage Authorized Copy
A certified copy of the marriage certificate. This is not a copy of the marriage license. Marriage records are available for licenses that were issued in Ventura County from 1873 to present.
Marriage Informational Copy
If you are not eligible to receive an authorized copy of the marriage certificate, you will receive a certified informational copy with the words "INFORMATIONAL, NOT A VALID DOCUMENT TO ESTABLISH IDENTITY" imprinted across the face of the copy.
